FUSD Inter-School Brain Awareness Week Art Contest
March 2022 - April 2022
FUSD schools American High, Mission San Jose, and Washington High organized the inter FUSD school Brain Awareness Week Art Contest! Open to elementary, middle, and high school students, this competition gives students the ability to show their creative side along with their understanding of neuroscience.

City of Fremont Youth Wellness Ambassador Program Collaboration
January 2022 - March 2022
The City of Fremont Youth Wellness Ambassador Program is organized by the Youth and Family Services (YFS) department and is an annual 12-week community service project where select students from Fremont Unified School District work with the City of Fremont as “Youth Wellness Ambassadors” and earn up to 30 hours of service hours.
The 2022 topic was "Role of Technology in Promoting Wellbeing" and Neuromatter was invited to deliver the curriculum in the following ways -
Guided the Youth Ambassadors on analyzing how technology is being used in innovative ways in digital health, wearables, mobile apps
Delivered presentations on Artificial Intelligence in Health & Wellbeing & Ethical Issues to consider
Bay Area Brain Bee 2022

The Bay Area Brain Bee is back!! It was held on March 5, 2022. AHS students had an opportunity to prepare and participate in the competition with a chance to advance to national and international levels.
Neuromatter-AHS Technology Corner

Neuromatter-AHS introduced a project at the intersection of Technology and Health - Developing a Neural Network to help predict early onset of Multiple Sclerosis. Neuromatter launched a YouTube channel with rich content addressing this challenge. Enjoy here!

The Art in Science STEAM Program Collaboration
October 2021
The Art in Science is an award-winning STEAM Program for kids, offering an innovative curriculum in various science topics of Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Engineering, Astronomy, and more. In collaboration with The Art in Science, Neuromatter team conducted a class for the higher age-group kids.
Neuromatter incorporated at American High School
August 2021
Neuromatter AHS is incorporated as a branch of American High School’s Science Olympiad Club. Science Olympiad is one of the largest K-12 STEM organizations in the US, dedicated to driving interest and participation in various disciplines of STEM.
Brain Awareness Week by Dana Foundation chapter
July 2021
Neuromatter is accepted as a chapter of Brain Awareness Week by Dana Foundation. Coordinated by the Dana Foundation, Brain Awareness Week (BAW) is the global campaign to foster public enthusiasm and support for brain science.
Neuromatter members will now have the opportunity to volunteer in their communities by hosting BAW events and campaigns to share the wonders of the brain and the impact brain science on our everyday lives.
International Youth Neuroscience Association chapter
June 2021
Neuromatter gets registered as a chapter of the International Youth Neuroscience Association (IYNA), an organization spread across 110 countries with over 6000 members, aimed at advancing the international collaboration of young neuroscientists and inspiring them to fight neurological diseases.
IYNA provides several opportunities for Neuromatter members to engage in meaningful ways with an international community and make an impact in furthering the science of brain, behavior and intelligence. Neuromatter members can publish articles in the international IYNA journal, the world’s largest youth neuroscience publication, participate in STEM Ideathons, compete in neuroscience research proposal competition, and much more.
Neuroscience Event at the Forest Park Elementary Student Council Carnival
Wonders of Brain Science and Optical Illusions

The Neuromatter Team presented at the Forest Park carnival, an invite-only event, and educated students about the human brain and the science behind optical illusions, gathering more than 150 students to the event.

Aditya Mittal and Rohit Mathur attended the UC Irvine Brain Bee Event hosted by the Center for the Neurobiology of Learning and Memory at UC Irvine. Aditya Mittal placed 1st at the modified competition.
